Brett Sterling

Brett Sterling was a house name assigned to the Captain Future novels beginning with number 14.

The editors at Thrilling Publications opted to create the Sterling byline after Captain Futureís author Edmond Hamilton informed them that he was expecting to join the Army in 1942.

Thrilling asked Joseph Sanachson to write two stories for after Hamiltonís induction. But when Hamilton failed to qualify for service because of minor health issues, Thrilling editors decided to continue using the Sterling name. Manly Wade Wellman also wrote one Captain Future novel under the Sterling byline.
