\""All-Star<\/a>All-Star Pulp Comics<\/em>, published by Redbud Studio Comics<\/a> in association with Airship 27<\/a>, has put out a fifth issue with new black-and-white comic stories of both original pulp and New Pulp characters. At present it’s only availlable from Indy Planet<\/a>, I don’t see it on Amazon.<\/p>\n

We get five stories, under a cover by Mike Belcher<\/strong> (Man in the Mask<\/strong>) with Brother Bones<\/strong> and Nightshift<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For classic pulp characters, we get The Crimson Mask<\/strong> and Ravenwood<\/strong>. Mark Davis<\/strong> provides the Crimson Mask story. The Crimson Mask is a short-lived character from Thrilling. Pharmacist Dr. Robert Clark<\/strong> uses his skills along with a crimson eye mask to fight crime. Here he must deal with a vampire. Or is he?<\/p>\n

Ravenwood, Stepson of Mystery, was a short-lived pulp hero at Ace. Airship 27 has put out several collections of new stories. Trained in Tibet, Ravenwood (no first name is ever given) uses his psychic training to solve crime. In this tale by Ron Fortier<\/strong>, he solves the murder of a banker.<\/p>\n

The first of the new characters is Nightshift, by Ron Fortier. Nightshift is your standard masked vigilante, who is really a reporter. Here he stops some Nazi saboteurs in the early years of WWII. Then decides to take on a greater calling.<\/p>\n

Michael Vance<\/strong> gives us Dr. Fear<\/strong> and Lady Loathing<\/strong>, who are able to stop a bizarre murder attempt at a theater. And there is a strange element to this story.<\/p>\n

Finally, Fortier gives us another Brother Bones story. Brother Bones is his creation, appearing in several collections of stories, as well as an upcoming movie. He is the “undead avenger,” who is back to fight crime. Here he takes care of a crime boss in a most gruesome way.<\/p>\n

Another great issue of this comicbook series. I have the whole series. I’m not certain when the next one might appear.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
