You do have to wonder how things might have been had some of Lester Dent‘s plans at different points been followed. There is also info on a similar character in another series by Dent, the Blond Adder, who had his younger female cousin join him. See my posting on him.

Illustrator Paul Orban, who did interior artwork for Doc Savage Magazine, is the focus of an article by Michael Housel. This is a great introduction to this artist, and we get several examples of his artwork, including work he did on Doc, The Shadow, and The Avenger.

We get a review of Michael Stradford‘s recent book on Steve Holland, who modeled not just for the James Bama‘s Doc covers, but many other works and artists as well. My review will be coming soon, as well.

There is also a checklist of Pat’s appearances in the Doc pulps, as well as a gallery of Doc covers and original artwork of Pat by several artists.

Overall, this is another great issue. While supplies last, you can get this issue in print form, or purchase the PDF of this and previous issues from him. I’m not sure how many previous issues are still available.
