We then get into a section which covers “what are pulps?”, their influence, grading, and pricing. We get a breakdown of genres and a list of publishers, including their variants. Terms and abbreviations are given.

Unlike the prior edition, we don’t get a section of pulp covers, which I would have liked to see. But it’s easier to see pulp covers today, so maybe that’s why they were left out.

Wrapping things up, we get several pages with listings of authors and artists, with most getting a sentence or two, and some getting a whole paragraph. There is then a bibliography of source material. I have to note that several items here are available in newer editions. As usual, I took a look to see if there are other books I should get.

The guide is rounded out with several full-page ads from auction houses and dealers.

Like the previous edition, this one is another good reference work. It will go on my reference shelf. Check it out, especially if you missed out on the previous edition.

Earlier this year, the revised third edition of Bookery’s Guide to Pulps & Related Magazines by Tim Cottrill came out from Murania Press.
