This collection reprints stories from Fading Shadow&#8217;s <em>Double Danger Tales<\/em> zine, which focused on <a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/the-hunt\/new-pulp\/\">New Pulp<\/a> heroes or new stories of classic pulp heroes in the public domain.<\/p>\n<p>I wish they had indicated what issues these stories had appeared. Since they didn&#8217;t, here is the info.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Monarch of the Flame Madness&#8221; by <strong>Maxentius Andor Scarlatti<\/strong> appeared in <em>Double Danger Tales<\/em> No. 14 and 15. It stars <strong>The Tarantula<\/strong>, a character in the style of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/the-links\/thespider\/\">The Spider<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Crimson Harvest&#8221; by <strong>Therese Drippe<\/strong> and <strong>Tom Johnson<\/strong> appared in <em>Double Danger Tales<\/em> No. 31. It stars <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/PulpWiki\/BlackBatThe\">The Black Bat<\/a><\/strong>, a classic pulp hero.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->&#8220;The Grey Monk&#8217;s Justice&#8221; by <strong>John L. French<\/strong> appeared in <strong>DDT #<\/strong>44. It stars <strong>The Grey Monk<\/strong>, a character in style with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/the-links\/theshadow\/\">The Shadow<\/a><\/strong>. Unlike most new hero pulps, this one is set in modern times. There was a collection of all The Gray Monk stories from Wild Cat Books, but it may be out of print.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Lunar League&#8221; by <strong>Lance Curry<\/strong> appeared in <em>Double Danger Tales<\/em> No. 41. It had the classic pulp hero <strong>Secret Agent X<\/strong> going after another classic pulp hero, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/PulpWiki\/MoonManThe\">The Moon Man<\/a><\/strong>. The Moon Man was a <strong>Robin Hood<\/strong>-like character, stealing from the corrupt to give to the poor, and as such, was chased by the police.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Doc Atlas: Gorilla Killer&#8221; by <strong>Michael Black<\/strong> appeared in <em>Double Danger Tales<\/em> No. 16. It stars Black&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/the-links\/docsavage\/\">Doc Savage<\/a><\/strong> pastiche, <strong>Doc Atlas<\/strong>. You can also get his Doc Atlas novel, &#8220;Melody of Vengence&#8221; and I&#8217;ve done a posting on Doc Atlas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hunter&#8217;s Moon&#8221; by <strong>Debra Delorme<\/strong> and <strong>Tom Johnson<\/strong> appeared in <em>Double Danger Tales<\/em> No. 20. It pits Debra&#8217;s <strong>The Scarecrow<\/strong> against Johnson&#8217;s <strong>The Black Ghost<\/strong>. These are <a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/pulpsuperfan\/category\/new-pulp\/\">New Pulp<\/a> characters set in modern times.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Night Hawk&#8221; by <strong>Will Murray<\/strong> appeared in <em>Double Danger Tales<\/em> No. 50. It stars Murray&#8217;s <strong>Night Hawk<\/strong>, which is a Western-style character.<\/p>\n<p>There are three more collections in this series, two from Mystic Toad Press, and another from NTD Books.
