\"'All-Star<\/a>All-Star Pulp Comics<\/em>, published by Redbud Studio Comics<\/a> in association with Airship 27<\/a>, has put out a fourth issue with new black-and-white comic stories of original New Pulp<\/a> characters. Like the previous issue, this is available through Amazon.<\/p>\n

This issue has three stories with The Gargoyle<\/strong>, The Veiled Lady<\/strong>, and Major Liberty<\/strong>.\u00a0 The Gargoyle was created by Dario Carrasco<\/strong>.\u00a0 The Veiled Lady is public domain character from the 40s that writer\/artist Kevin Paul Shaw Broden<\/strong> who has taken over the character and plans on doing an origin.\u00a0 And Major Liberty was created by Ron Fortier.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> I don’t believe they’ve appeared anywhere else. All are illustrated by different artists.<\/p>\n

The Gargoyle is a mysterious character, a masked detective and vigilante with some similarities to Batman<\/strong>. Here he deals with a mystery that leads to a group of neo-Nazis. It’s set in the mid ’50s in Boston.<\/p>\n

The Veiled Lady is really the district attorney’s secretary, who goes into action against the criminals and crooks in her unnamed town. An interesting element is that she uses a whip.<\/p>\n

Major Liberty, frankly, seems more comic book than pulp.\u00a0 A character along the lines of Captain America<\/strong>, a super-soldier type created by the government. The difference here is the Major is a woman.<\/p>\n

This is another great collection. It’s been awhile since the last issue. I would love to see this come out on a more regular basis, maybe annually. I know Fortier is working on other comic book stories of pulp characters. Would love to see stories with Captain Hazzard<\/strong> or his Brother Bones, <\/strong>and these are apparently in the works.<\/p>\n
