To all you pulp fans who have visited here over the past two years, I want to thank you for your interest, your support, and your kind comments. And to Bill Lampkin<\/strong>, who owns and operates ThePulp.Net<\/a>, I want to extend my sincere gratitude for allowing me the opportunity to address you weekly. A nicer and more helpful guy I’ve never met.<\/p>\n

I hope you will all continue to support pulpdom. Read those great old stories; don’t let them die. Buy the old magazines. Support the efforts to reprint them. Attend the pulp conventions. Share your enthusiasm among your friends. If you’re an artist, I hope that the pulps inspire your works. And if you’re a writer, may you write about the pulps. Write some pulp fiction!<\/p>\n

It’s the earliest Shadow radio script known to exist, titled “Special Orders,” originally broadcast on Oct. 5, 1932. This was five years before Orson Welles<\/strong> made his debut as the invisible crimefighter on Mutual. In this script, The Shadow is not part of the story… he is only the announcer and host. And Frank Readick<\/strong> was the voice of The Shadow.<\/p>\n
