In less than two days, Pulpcon 37 opens its doors at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Dayton, Ohio, Convention Center. Wish I could be there.
I intended to post an entry when I received the final Pulpcon newsletter a week or so ago. This year’s guests of honor will be contemporary science fiction writers Jerry Pournelle and Larry Niven. Their selection was a bit controversial, due to their limited connection to the pulp era.
A video interview with the late science fiction writer Jack Williamson will be shown, followed later in the evening by a presentation on Williamson by Stephen Haffner, who has published several collections of Williamson’s stories.
And, of course, there will be the popular pulp room, auctions, the Lamont Award presentation and radio play.
My one visit to Pulpcon was very fun, but seemed to go too quickly.
I hope everyone attending this year’s con will have a blast.
