Doc Con XII recap

Continuing with my checklist of things I’ve intended to post but haven’t, here’s the highlights video from November’s Doc Con XII in Chandler, Ariz.

If you’re not familiar, the annual Arizona Doc Con is a fun-filled day (really, day-and-a-half, if you count the Friday evening radio show re-enactment) spent with fellow fans of the Man of Bronze and the pulps in general. I’ve had the opportunity to attend for the past four years.

The 2009 edition was hosted by Rob Smalley, one of the forces behind the convention’s creation back in 1998. There’s a core of Doc Savage fans from the Phoenix area who attend every year, plus several others who make the trek to the desert regularly or for a single con. (Hey, it’s pretty nice weather here in the Valley of the Sun around Doc Con time.)

The focus of Doc Con XII was the 75th anniversary of the introduction of Doc’s cousin, Pat Savage, to the novels.

Anyway, enough with the throat-clearing. Enjoy the video:

Hope to see you at Doc Con next fall.
