Western pulp fictioneer Grover C. “Bill” Gulick died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, in Walla Walla, Wash. He was 97.
Gulick had short stories and novels published in .44 Western Magazine, Ace-High Western Stories, Dime Western and other western pulps beginning in 1941. His works also appeared in Argosy, Adventure and Short Stories.
He’s best remembered the western movies made from his novels, “Bend of the Snake” (“Bend in the River,” 1952), “The Road to Denver” (1955) and “The Hallelujah Train” (“The Hallelujah Trail,” 1965).
