We welcomed in 2023 a few days ago, and with it a new feature at ThePulp.Net: On This Date.
Every day you’ll find an updated list celebrating the anniversaries of births and deaths of those who produced the pulp magazines — publishers, editors, fictioneers, artists, and others — and those who have contributed to pulp collecting and fandom.
For the past 10 years, we’ve remembered those pulpsters (almost) daily in thousands of tweets on Twitter.
Unfortunately, Twitter never made it easy to schedule those tweets. Each one had to be scheduled individually, and that could be as many as a dozen for a single day. That was a pain. And that’s not to mention when I missed my calendar reminder to add more tweets.
I’ve been looking around for an alternative way to honor the memories of those pulpsters. Creating a dedicated page — On This Date — was the answer.
Bookmark it and check each day to see who was born and who died on that day. And remember.
