Yellowed Perils derives its name from the yellowed pages of aging pulp magazines and the perilous adventures that appeared within them. It’s the first of ThePulp.Net’s blog and is written by TPN editor William Lampkin.
Lampkin discovered the pulps through paperback reprints and books such as Ron Goulart’s Cheap Thrills and Philip José Farmer’s Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life in the 1970s. He founded ThePulp.Net’s precursor, .Pulp, in 1996.
Lampkin was in the newspaper business for over 25 years, much like Rambler Murphy (except for the crime-solving business, or the frequent moving, or a nifty nickname, for that matter). He is also a freelance writer, editor, and designer.
Lampkin is also editor and designer of The Pulpster, published each year for PulpFest. He also serves on the PulpFest committee. He received the Munsey Award in 2018.
