But it looks as if <a href=\"http:\/\/thepulp.net\/PulpWiki\/wikka.php?wakka=TarzanCharacter\"><strong>Tarzan<\/strong><\/a> may be returning to theaters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sophia Savage<\/strong>, over at <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.indiewire.com\/thompsononhollywood\/\" target=\"_blank\">Thompson on Hollywood<\/a>, is reporting that <em>Harry Potter<\/em> director <strong>David Yates<\/strong> is in talks to direct a new Tarzan movie for Warner Bros. <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.indiewire.com\/thompsononhollywood\/david-yates-tackling-tarzan-hardy-hunnam-cavill-skarsgard-in-the-mix?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed\" target=\"_blank\">Read more here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t remember seeing more than a short portion of the 2003 TV series. Nor have I seen more than a few clips of the Disney animated <em>Tarzan<\/em> from 1999. Same with <em>Tarzan and the Lost City<\/em>, from 1998 with <strong>Casper Van Dien<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nTurning the clock back a bit further, I always thought 1984\u2019s <em>Greystroke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes<\/em>, was a pretty enjoyable film version. (We won\u2019t mention <em>Tarzan the Ape Man<\/em> from 1981 starring fellow Mississippi State alumni <strong>Miles O\u2019Keeffe<\/strong> and <strong>Bo Derek<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n<p>Of course, there were <a href=\"\/yellowedperils\/2011\/06\/03\/pulp-movie-du-jour-tarzan\/\">movie rumors back in 2011<\/a>. But has the 100th anniversary of <a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/PulpWiki\/BurroughsEdgarRice\"><strong>Edgar Rice Burroughs<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 creation spurred renewed interest outside the pulp world? Let&#8217;s hope so.
