Beginning in 1947, his stories regularly appeared in <em><a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/PulpWiki\/StartlingStories\">Startling Stories<\/a><\/em>, <em>Thrilling Wonder<\/em> and other pulps.<\/p>\n<p>He continued writing for the SF digest magazines into the mid-&#8217;60s.<\/p>\n<p>Beside SF and fantasy, Vance also wrote mysteries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fictioneer Jack Vance died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at age 96.
