She turns 90 today.<\/p>\n<p>She is one of only a handful of women artists who contributed to the pulp magazines.<\/p>\n<p>Her first interior illustrations appear in 1941, while her first cover (for <em>Rangeland Romances<\/em>) was dated December 1942 \u2014 when she was only 19 years old.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pulpartists.com\/Stoll.html\" target=\"_blank\">Mrs. Karn<\/a>&#8216;s work also appeared on the covers of <em>All-Story Love<\/em>, <em>Black Mask<\/em>, <em>Dime Mystery<\/em>, <em>Detective Tales<\/em> and other pulp magazines.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->If you&#8217;d like to find out more about her, check out <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.illustration-magazine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Illustration Magazine<\/a><\/em>. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pulpartists.com\" target=\"_blank\">David Saunders<\/a><\/strong> (the son of pulp artist <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pulpartists.com\/SN.html\" target=\"_blank\">Norman Saunders<\/a><\/strong>) has a wide-ranging interview with Mrs. Karn that covers her entire career in the pulps, as well as her life after the pulps.
