You’ve probably noticed that there have been a lot fewer posts here on Yellowed Perils<\/strong> in the past month or so. Things have been really busy.<\/p>\n

I’ve managed to keep things up-to-date on ThePulp.Net<\/a><\/strong> and get Michael Brown<\/strong>‘s entries edited for The Pulp Super-Fan<\/a><\/strong> (though I’ve probably been cutting it too close for his comfort!). But this and other work has cut down on the amount of time I’ve been able to write for Yellowed Perils<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

One other project that’s picked up in the past couple of weeks is the Southern Pulpsters<\/a> group on Facebook. I set it up back in the fall, but never got around to doing much with it.<\/p>\n

I had a chance to meet Jeff Shanks<\/strong>, another pulp fan from the Tallahassee area, for breakfast a couple of weeks ago, and that spurred me to get busy with the group. Jeff’s now an admin on it, and we’ve added 27 other pulp fans from the southeast in the past week.<\/p>\n

Our goal is to help pulp fans in the region connect with each other, either through small meet-ups or maybe a small convention. Heck, you don’t even have to wait for us; you can grab coffee or a meal with a nearby pulp fans, like Jeff and I did.<\/p>\n

If you’re not on Facebook, we don’t want to leave you out. We’ll try to keep you informed of any get-togethers in the Southeast through posts on various Yahoo pulp groups<\/a>, tweets on Twitter<\/a>, and listings on the Pulp Events<\/a> calendar on most pages inside ThePulp.Net<\/a><\/strong>. I will also try to post here.<\/p>\n

For starters, Pensacon<\/a>, being held Feb. 21-23 in Pensacola, Fla., will include a pulp panel on Friday, Feb. 21. Nicky Wheeler Nicholson<\/strong> and Jeff will be talking about “From Pulps to Comics” at 4:30 p.m. There’s also a pulp exhibit running in conjunction with this at the University of West Florida’s The Art Gallery<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I’m planning to drive over from Tallahassee for the panel and take a look at the exhibit (assuming the weather plays nice). If you’re in the area and can attend, that would be great. Please say “hello.”<\/p>\n
