Clear Sr.<\/strong> has died.<\/p>\n<p>He died March 21, 2015, at the age of 71.<\/p>\n<p>Clear opened the Dragon&#8217;s Lair comic book store in Dayton, Ohio, in 1973, then Merlin&#8217;s Books in Tampa, Fla., in 1983. He returned to Ohio where he sold books online.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->He was the author of &#8220;Old Magazines Collector&#8217;s Price Guide&#8221; and &#8220;Old Magazines: Identification and Value Guide.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For his support of Pulpcon, the predecessor of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pulpfest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">PulpFest<\/a>, Clear received the Lamont Award at Pulpcon 17 in 1988.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PulpFest&#8217;s website reports that longtime pulp fan and book dealer Richard E.
