John Olsen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

John Olsen<\/a><\/strong>, longtime operator of “The Shadow in Review” website, has joined ThePulp.Net<\/a> as a blogger. Beginning Friday, Oct. 30, John will be writing “about all things pulpish.”<\/p>\n

He has called his blog, That’s Pulp!<\/a><\/em>, and kicks it off with a look back at the 1938 movie serial The Spider’s Web<\/em>.<\/p>\n

John started his website devoted to The Shadow<\/a><\/strong> back in 1996, around the same time as ThePulp.Net<\/a>‘s original site began. Comcast Personal Web Page service, where the site was housed, came to an end in early October, and so did his site.<\/p>\n

John posted about it in the alt.pulp<\/a> newsgroup:<\/p>\n

“The Shadow in Review” website is gone. Comcast, who hosted the site, is no longer providing personal web space for its customers. So after nineteen years, “The Shadow in Review” site has closed down.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the many visitors to the site over the years. Reading the entire run of the pulp stories (twice) was a lot of fun, as was reviewing them. Remember to keep peering into those dark corners, and if you hear a whispery laugh… The Shadow knows!<\/p>\n

I was surprised and saddened by the website’s sudden demise. (Unfortunately, that happens all too often to pulp websites.) I sent John a quick email and after a bit of discussion, he agreed to write a blog here.<\/p>\n

I’m excited to have John on board. He’s got some great ideas for That’s Pulp!<\/a><\/em>, and I think you’ll enjoy reading it.<\/p>\n
