(Look for the &#8220;Download&#8221; links sprinkled throughout the cover images.)<\/p>\n<p>Now &mdash; and this pretty much goes for any comic-book adaptation of a pulp hero &mdash; don&#8217;t expect <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/the-links\/theshadow\/\">The Shadow<\/a><\/strong> to be the same character you read about in the novels. This comic-book version of The Shadow is more like the radio version, with <strong>Lamont Cranston<\/strong> heavily involved in the stories and The Shadow possessing the ability to become invisible (or at least &#8220;cloud men&#8217;s minds so that they cannot see him&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to The Shadow, you&#8217;ll find backup stories featuring pulp characters <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/the-links\/docsavage\/\" >Doc Savage<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>Nick Carter<\/strong>,<strong> Cap Fury<\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thepulp.net\/tag\/the-avenger\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Avenger<\/a><\/strong>, as well as characters developed for the comics.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>WINDY CITY RECAP<\/strong>: Longtime pulp convention regular <strong>Walker Martin<\/strong> has recovered sufficiently from the <a href=\"http:\/\/windycitypulpandpaper.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Windy City Pulp &amp; Paper Convention<\/a> to write <a href=\"http:\/\/mysteryfile.com\/blog\/?p=39787#comment-4972424\" target=\"_blank\">a convention report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Walker writes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>My life has revolved around my book and pulp collection now for 60 years. I cannot imagine not attending Windy City and Pulpfest. One of these days I physically will not be able to make the trip, but hopefully that time is still off in the future somewhere. Attending these conventions is important not only because of the books and artwork available, but also because of the friendships that I value. But the Arizona Fans of Bronze have locked down Nov. 4-6 for this year&#8217;s Doc Con. (Watch the announcement video above.)<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m eager to hear what they have planned.
