\""The<\/a>PulpFest 2016<\/a> is just around the corner. *<\/a><\/p>\n

I’m hitting the road on Wednesday morning (it’s a two-day drive up to Columbus, Ohio), and looking forward to attending a third-straight year. I hope you’ll be among those going to the con this year.<\/p>\n

The dealers’ room opens at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 21, for early-bird shopping. Then PulpFest’s evening programming kicks off a few hours later.<\/p>\n

At least for me, PulpFest makes for long days. The dealers’ room opens at 10 a.m. each day, but I’m usually down before then. And even though the scheduled events usually wrap up between 11 and midnight (the auction can run longer), someone’s often hosting an informal get-together until the wee hours.<\/p>\n

PulpFest 2016 runs Thursdays, July 21, through Sunday, July 24. Visit the PulpFest website<\/a> for details.<\/p>\n

THE PULPSTER<\/a><\/em> ONLINE<\/a><\/strong>: Every PulpFest attendee will get a copy of this year’s number of The Pulpster<\/em> in their membership packet. (Oh, I should mention that PulpFest<\/a> supporting members also receive a complimentary copy.) **<\/a><\/p>\n

I sent it off to the printer in Ohio on June 30, so I’m just as eager as you to see the printed magazine.<\/p>\n

I think you’ll enjoy the variety of articles that we have again this year. The cover story is a package of terrific essays by former editors of Amazing Stories<\/em>. (PulpFest 2016 is celebrating the 90th anniversary of the pulp’s first issue.)<\/p>\n

Joining the printed version of The Pulpster<\/em> this year is an online presence.<\/p>\n

Head over to ThePulpster.com<\/a> for details on this year’s issue, as well as each previous number of The Pulpster<\/em>. There’s a brief history of the magazine, the latest news about The Pulpster<\/em>, and a listing of upcoming pulp conventions.<\/p>\n

I’ve added basic information about article submissions and advertising in the magazine, and plan on expanded the information on those pages when I have time.<\/p>\n

\"Pulp<\/a>GET A PULP LIFE<\/strong>: I’ve got a table at PulpFest this year. I’m not a pulp dealer, but I will have a few extra pulp fanzines and maybe a duplicate book or two for sale.<\/p>\n

Also, I will also have a couple of interesting items available, too.<\/p>\n

Fellow Tallahassee pulpster Mike Hunter<\/strong> produced a colorful bumper sticker last year reading “I’m a pulpster,” with pulp magazine covers within the letters. I will have a limited number of those on hand.<\/p>\n

In a similar vein, I’ll be introducing a “Pulp Life” window sticker, too. Forget salt, show off your pulp life! These stickers, which can also be applied to laptops, tablets, etc., will be available at a special PulpFest discount at the con.<\/p>\n

Even if you don’t want to buy anything, please stop by my table and say hello.<\/p>\n
