The cars are loaded, and Jeff Shanks<\/a><\/strong> and I on the road to PulpFest 2026 this morning.<\/p>\n

It’s a bit of a drive from Tallahassee<\/a>. we\u2019ll be arriving in Mars, Penn., on the northern side of Pittsburgh, tomorrow.<\/p>\n

For the most part, Wednesday will be devoted to setting up for the convention. There is one presentation, \u201cA Century of Robert K. Abbett<\/strong>,\u201d scheduled for the evening.<\/p>\n

Things really get underway on Thursday, with early-bird shopping and a full slate of evening programming beginning with PulpFest<\/a> committee chair Jack Cullers<\/strong>\u2019 welcome. PulpFest programming runs through Saturday evening, ending with the auction. The dealers\u2019 room is open Sunday morning until noon, but by then most dealers are packing and leaving.<\/p>\n

As in past years, I will be posting photos<\/a> throughout PulpFest and a daily roundup<\/a> each morning through Saturday. So, check back here at Yellowed Perils<\/a><\/em> each day starting tomorrow for those.<\/p>\n

I’ll be recording most of the presentations and will get them edited and posted to the Pulp Tales<\/em><\/a> podcast later this fall.<\/p>\n

While Pulp Tales<\/em> gives you a chance to hear the presentations, I hope that you will be able to experience them in person. The presentations are only part of PulpFest. There’s the dealers’ room (chock-full of pulps and pulp-adjacent items) and general fellowship among pulp fans. First up, there’s FarmerCon<\/a>, the long-running convention devoted to Philip Jos\u00e9 Farmer<\/a><\/strong>. Doc Con<\/a> returned last year at PulpFest; this year marks the debut of The Shadow Con<\/a>. One celebrates Doc Savage<\/a><\/strong>, while the other celebrates The Shadow<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
