Over at his Rough Edges blog, writer James Reasoner mentions that he’s planning to head to Cross Plains, Texas, for Saturday’s birthday celebration for pulp writer Robert E. Howard, left.
The creator of such characters as Conan, Solomon Kane and Kull, would have been 101 on Jan. 19. Unfortunately, he cut his own life short in 1936.
Reasoner has a rundown of the events planned for Saturday, including the time for the birthday cake.
For those of us who can’t make it tomorrow, maybe we should pick up one of Howard’s books to remember him.
